French pâtisserie Ladurée releases spooky macarons to celebrate Halloween

The limited edition treats are flavoured with devilishly delicious grenadine

Ladurée, the iconic Parisian pâtisserie, has a spook-tacular addition to its range of tasty macarons in the run-up to Halloween. The wickedly delicious Halloween macarons are flavoured with grenadine and have a vibrant orange shell. That’s not all – they come in a glow-in-the-dark gift box decorated with a skull and bones.

The Halloween macaron gift box, containing eight macarons, costs £21.50 and can be bought from any of Ladurée’s UK stores. You can also order online for delivery nationwide until 31 October. Bone appétit!

Mini macaron-lovers are in for a treat at Ladurée this Halloween. Children who dress up for the occasion and visit one of the UK pâtisseries on 31 October will enjoy a complimentary brownie (or macaron in the Manchester store).

Ladurée was founded at 16 Rue Royale, Paris, in 1862 by Louis Ernest Ladure?e, who hailed from south-west France. The pâtisserie’s most famous confection, the macaron, was the brainchild of Ladure?e’s younger cousin, Pierre Desfontaines, who came up with the revolutionary idea of putting a layer of ganache between two shells. Today it has outlets the world over, from Japan to Azerbaijan, and its tantalising range of macaron flavours includes blackcurrant violet, orange blossom, and pistachio.
